NTSB inspects Jackson Township plane crash scene By TED CZECH Daily Record/Sunday News Posted: 01/29/2012 01:09:14 PM EST A 56-year-old Maryland man died Sunday when the small plane he was piloting crashed in a cornfield near the York Airport in Jackson Township, according to the York County Coroner's Office. The coroner's office identified the man as Douglas Helms, of Westminster, Md. An autopsy on the man's body will be conducted Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Helms left Frederick, Md., this morning at 11 a.m., it was unclear what his flight plan entailed, the coroner's office reported. The crash marked the second fatal plane crash the area has seen in a little over a month.
