Most of us on here have gone that extra mile, have a strong work ethic and have no use for some of the gimme programs that are out there. Our feeling is "the more you learn, the more you earn". I don't want anyone in the pointey end on account of their skin color or in ATC for that matter. It is ability that counts.

Remember, an AT Controller never dies when they screw up, just pilots and passengers.

Hopefully they can hang on another year when all the social engineers need to be fired. These changes were so outrageous the perpetrators should be held criminally liable.

I live in Beaver County. This is the first I've read or heard about this. Amazing.

This is just plain nuts. Next pilots will not need traning, just a few hours using MS flight simulator !

So instead of hiring the best candidates, the federal government is hiring by quotas. Brilliant.
So when unqualified candidates get on the scope, what's the outcome.
ATC's trying to keep thousands of aircraft from crashing into each other is not a hard enough job without political correctness making it tougher?....Please.

Just told the wife to keep track of all this for the class action suit if I'm killed by a quota filler.

CTI student here. The biggest thing is that our professors, former controllers in their own right, have endorsed the program and the abilities of our students. The biggest thing going was the ability to teach a little bit of what was at the Academy, get people out to facilities faster, with less time spent on training, with per-diems and the like. CTI spent less time at the academy with a far less washout rate compared to OTS, and with the impending shortage about to happen, all that time is huge.
