Republic Airways reaches tentative deal with pilots union for its three airlines
Republic Airways said Friday it has a tentative agreement with the Teamsters that would cover its more than 2,200 pilots that fly for Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America. Sorry.... I got mixed up
Is it possible this agreement came about because of a difference in Teamsters and ALPA? Or could it be a halfway decent attitude by the airline that their new pilots may be human beings and need to live?
It's simple really. They want to keep flying. You need pilots to do that. They're just getting to new reality of regional aviation before everyone else. They're scoring points with everyone, in the mean time.
If they have the pilots, the mainlines will be beating a path to their door.
It's skating to where the puck is heading. Almost like the opposite of the fustercluck at the Envoy MEC, with not even allowing the pilots to vote on an agreement that was negotiated with the pilots committee, that provided best-in-class flowthrough benefits. Too many conflicted motivations all the way around. It would've been good to hear from the pilots (in a vote) to see what they wanted.
