I grew up watching them build that, Army-Air-Corps Facility... The Gov't took Low-lying farmland, and We kids lived near the Rail-Tracks very close to the Current, Buddliner, location on South Rd. The Prime Contractor was, " Dematteo Corp.", out of Quincy Mass. We were told that the Roads from Quincy to Bedford, were not Capable of Moving those Giant-Units; so the railroad Carried them here on, Flatcars... My childhood Home at #98 South Rd was barely a Hundred-Yards from where they Off-Loaded, that Equipment, then drove Down South Rd to that intended Location... A Great Time to be a Kid........
