Airbus A300F4-600 (N750FD) - Spectacular Crepuscular Rays bathe Fed Ex Airbus "Saki" in a warm glow.  br /The rays were caused by sunlight below the horizon striking thunderstorm tops 250 miles away in Rochester, MN ...some light blocked / some light gets through.  br / br /Also a very humid air mass over WI on a Sept. 30 2019 evening.

The rays were caused by sunlight below the horizon striking thunderstorm tops 250 miles away in Rochester, MN ...some light blocked / some light gets through.

Also a very humid air mass over WI on a Sept. 30 2019 evening.

The nice sunsets we observe are caused by pollution. The sun emits white light that contains all the colours of the rainbow. Infra-red is the light spectrum with the longest wave length. As the sun sets the shorter wave lengths are blocked (normally by natural) pollution, While the colourful red & orange rays get through.
