Delta Has Flight From Seattle to Shanghai Turned Around By China Halfway Through Trip

A Delta Air Lines flight from Seattle to Shanghai was forced to turn around midair last week after the Shanghai airport implemented new lengthy cleaning requirements related to COVID-19. Delta said in an email statement on Monday that the new cleaning procedures at Shanghai Pudong International Airport "require significantly extended ground time and are not operationally viable for Delta." Speaking as a former dispatcher,if that flight was more than halfway, then it needed to divert to an alternate or it was very close to being empty upon its return... very unsettling and dangerous of China to not inform those companies BEFORE departing..

I say cancel all flight to 🇨🇳, take a boat!
