Small plane crashes into power lines in Montgomery County causing widespread power outages

Not the first rodeo for this airport. In 2014 a corporate jet crashed into a nearby house killing six souls. The airport opened in 1959. Fast forward the area is now heavily developed. This will not be the last incident there.
Knew the fellow who did this at Boeing Field many years back with a C150 hanging upside down. Engine quit on him shut the highway down for quite sometime.

HOW? Does one do that in a small plane? Engine Trouble, or maybe just did not see the power lines at night? It's a surprise that both the occupants are still alive? seeing as that's a lot of power running through the wires that the plane is resting on.
