Don't understand why a sitting incumbent pres. gets free use of Gov't equipment while campaigning; shouldn't this expense come out of a campaign fund? How much does it cost an hour to fly AFI? $50K of taxpayers $$$.

The point is simple regardless of political affiliation: A TFR is set for a specific purpose whether or not you agree with it or not, it makes all GA look bad when someone penetrates it. Nothing you can do to change it, except don't fly in it. Period.

It's simple like you said, but apparently these simpletons don't understand that...

Whether you like the President Obama or not he's still the Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces. He also is the keeper of the lanch codes etc. Their security must be maintained at all times.

Just getting tired of the Pres. and his TFR's imposing on the general public free airspace, Bush never abused his right to fly as much as Obama has, woops that must be the feds knocking at my door to tell me that I can't make comments relating to the closing down of airspace for the purpose of campaigning.

Say what? The reporter was in Las Vegas - so talk about real journalistic frontline investigative reporting and inspite of it being really vague as well as short, it still needed editing support?
What did this 'protection' cost the taxpayer? These protective measures are all for show and provide no real value beyond theater. These 30 mile TFRs are not efficient and to exert such a level of force for tangential encorsions seems excessive. I wonder what the public reaction will be when these interceptions cause the small plane to crash (perhaps into a mall or school). I suggest the security folks could be more effective by including GA pilots and organizations who genuinely want to help and can provide efficient/effective solutions to this ongoing problem.

He doesn't own it. He doesn't deserve it. You just paid your portion to keep him safe.

So what... obama is over rated and is a legend in his own mind.... Wait til November and we wont have that problem anymore.

In 49 U.S.C. § 40103, "Sovereignty and use of airspace", the Code specifies that "A citizen of the United States has a public right of transit through the navigable airspace."
Presidential TFRs infringe on that freedom. Apparently King Obama must be protected at all costs!

Of course the planes landed without incident, they were no threat in the first place. I understand the need for protection, but I don't understand the need for a 30 mile TFR and a 10 mile no fly zone.
