Delta/Northwest certificates to be combined shortly
....the Federal Aviation Administration gave Northwest and Delta the green light on Thursday to finish integrating their operations and approved their request to fly under a single operating certificate. (www.freep.com) المزيد...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
This is a very sad thing. I always have loved delta and now they will have to fly under Norhwest.
No. Delta is the surviving carrier. You will see Delta and not Northwest aircraft in the future.
Northwest was a stupid name to begin with.
If you know airline history then you would know that Northwest is NOT a stupid name. Northwest's original route was between Chicago and Minneapolis. It then extended to the Pacific Northwest (Seattle) via intermediate routes.
Do you know why Delta is called Delta?
If you want stupid names try bmi baby, Jet2, and a whole slew of other names for today's airlines.

Northwest also use to use the trading name of Northwest Orient because it flew to - that's right - the Orient via a northwestern route.
I've actually been very pleased with Northwest over the years. Hopefully under Delta they'll still service the small airports in NY that I usually use them for.
