Clint Eastwood to Direct Biopic About 'Miracle on the Hudson' Pilot

تم الإرسال

Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger captured the world's attention when he miraculously landed his disabled jet in New York's Hudson River, saving the lives of every passenger on board. Now, the story of this real-life American hero is being turned into a movie, with Clint Eastwood directing it, Warner Bros. announced on Tuesday. (www.people.com) المزيد...

I think John Travolta would be a good choice for the Captains role. Near the same age Sully was, type rated in quite a few heavy jets. Flies his own B-707..

Long experience as an actor as well as a pilot.

These movies tend to get really messed up, but I'm willing to wait and see what Mr Eastwood will do with it.

Clint will turn in the best aviation film since The High and the Mighty.

There will be an airplane in the script. Accuracy to the actual event would go downhill from there, I suspect. OTOH Eastwood did "Flags of our Fathers" and "Letters from Iwo Jima". Time will tell.

Don't forget "American Sniper", I suspect that he will do a great job directing this too.

I would like to see Harrison Ford as Capt. Sully.

He's a very good director. The big hurdle for me will be casting.

MUCHITS: How can you "hate" someone who saves the lives of ALL on board his aircraft and who has served his country in the US military ? Glad this is being made into a movie ... Not only a credit to Sully, but all who were onboard the Airbus A320, US # 1549 ... The aircraft N106US, is now on display at Carolinas Aviation Museum, with the damage it sustained in the water landing ...

I actually saw that plane traveling to CLT.... The Tractor Trailer was massive and had something like 48 wheels on it. To watch that thing Maneuver was quite educational and entertaining... They took Interstate 81 South and came right through Roanoke, VA on the Interstate... For an overnight they closed a Weigh Station so that he would have room to park...

Scott and Clement: Have you followed his views and support of the 1,500 hour rule and pushing to make it more and more difficult and expensive to get an ATP. I credit him with being a hero, but he is a terrible spokesman for the industry. Just because you are a hero does not make you all knowing. From talking with other pilots at my airline, I would venture to guess that less than 10% of the pilots at my airline have positive things to say about his industry publicity.

I heard the CVR Recording, and no I do not think he did.... He did say that he was unable to make any of the suggested landing points and also said he was landing in the Hudson, but never said "I am declaring an emergency" but if ATC did not think landing in the Hudson with both engines was an emergency then they had a screw loose somewhere.
