I think all we're may doing here is turning him into a real criminal. Let's face it, our penal system isn't known for turning out model citizens and costs society a lot of money. Not knowing him or any idea what his thinking was, (I would guess perhaps the judge knows), but if he's just a stupid young kid, a few years of community service would be more educational for him and others. I know more than one who plays with lasers that have no idea it's illegal or even dangerous to aircraft. Outside of the profession, it's not a well-known law.

I would rather see more important information. Such as profit per unit delivered. Delivered price per unit, etc. To me, deliveries are like comparing a Chevy to a Mercedes. Also, some data on the life span of airframes.

I wonder how many would understand or have the ability to follow along? I have no issues with this but it seems to be not all that worthy of being "news". Next thing they'll make the flight deck video available. Oh, wait, they already tried that. Back in the 70s I think. It didn't work out well when things went bad.

Like the DOT, FAA, or NTSB has ever been the solution to any problem. Does anybody really expect the bureaucrats to have answers? Especially when they are placed based more on their woke beliefs than experience and knowledge.

Could it be they simply haven't any other place to put it? New aircraft often sit idle until the new schedule is released. Having an oddball type in a pattern causes havoc. Slipping a new aircraft into a route just replaces the originally scheduled. So, until the new schedules are produced, something has to sit.

Where did you find that information? I haven't seen or heard of delays. Certified flight physicians can approve the exam on the spot. Now if you're speaking of special issuances, that may be a different story. I went down that road successfully only once and the second go-around put an end to my flying. Waiting six weeks for a post-dated six-month approval was just too much.

An awful lot of conjecture in his post. But I will say there was a day drug companies were not allowed to advertise their products. We can thank our politicians for that wonderful enhancement to our society!

First of all, the FAA can oversee the industry but where do you think their expertise might come from. Another old saying in aviation is "if an FAA employee had any KSA's they would be working at a real aviation job". Sitting on a ramp was usually caused by snarled traffic most often caused by FAA controllers, not airline boardroom members. Most delays are caused by weather or FAA controllers yet the airlines must do the reporting as if they have total control over the situation. Even to the point of requiring airlines to publish on-time records. Somebody, please tell me how that enhanced safety or how it changed this situation. Flights usually sit on ramps because they have no gate to return to or no space to maneuver. They have a (FAA) clearance to push back, then get a hold on the taxiway. Airlines are responsible to the extent they try to do more than a facility is capable of, but they take the heat for delays and pay the FAA-imposed fines. Fines are the solution of choice w
