My partner and I owned one of these in the 80s. Great plane. Lots of summer trips from HPN to Maine for the Lobster Festivals.
Cessna C-177A, N2299Y. flew the delivery flight from KCEA - Cessna Aircraft Field Airport to KGXY - Greeley-Weld County Airport with a 2 days stop over K50- Cook Airfield in Derby Kansas (east of wichita) for outfitting for David Emery of Emery Aviation in 1968. 99Y was also painted Red.
Had the opportunity to fly one of these KDSM-KTUL-KDSM. Sweet bird.
I never flew one with the fixed gear, only the RG version.
