Looks like something straight out of Sci-Fi movie. The telephoto lens foreshortens everything. Wonderful chopper!
Funny front photo. because it´s called Chinook?
Much different than the ones we built in the '60s
don't know that the telephoto lens is what shortened this Chinook.
More like the angle it is sitting and you are shooting that gives it an odd looking length.

It's certainly the long focal length that has given it this perspective. It was taxiing in and turned to starboard as I was taking the photos. 600mm through a chain-mesh fence. Can't get shots without the wire if I try to go wide with the big front element on the lens.
