Sam... there's not many Boeing L-15 Scouts flying. The FAA registry indicates only four (4) L-15 aircraft are currently registered! Apparently, Boeing only made twelve (12) Scouts total; all post-WWII.

The one in your photo is registered to private owners in Wasilla, Alaska... that's some flying distance from Oskosh!!!

its really a head turner, looks odd but it appears to have good visibility for its job.
I believe the owner just finished restoring it too
