VH-CQA C/N J-35 was not a Frakes Turbine (or Turbo) Mallard, but a stock piston powered airplane with P&W R-1340 radial engines.

This aircraft was first registered in Australia on 26th July 2013. Previously registered in the USA as N611DS
Aircraft like these used to ferry passengers to and from Long Beach (LGB) and LAX to Catalina island. At Catalina, landed and took off in the ocean. 1950s-1970s
