Currently, there is only one Lockheed 18 (Howard 250) Lodestar still flying; however, the one seen in the photo above is going to be undergoing extensive work to return it to "flying status."
NOTE: The reg number shown on this aircraft was Cancelled in 2013 and has now been assigned to another aircraft.
1942 ...... Off the assembly line and placed in service in the USAAF as 42-56011.
June, '43 .... Sent to RCAF (Royal Canadian AF) and reregistered as 559.
1946 ...... Acquired by the Michigan Tool Company and reregistered as N67H.
Sold .... To unknown owner.
1966 ...... Modified by Howard Aero; became one of a very few L-18 Lodestars to have tricycle landing gear installed; thus, becoming a Howard 250 model
Lodestar. Reregistered as N6711.
2013 ...... Reg number N6711 cancelled.
2014 ...... Purchased by an individual in Alaska.
2014 - Present Day .... Located at Nut Tree Airport (KVCB), Vacaville, CA.
