It was all very "routinely' handled, despite the increased stress caused by the heavy smoke and ash being blown into the southern end of the airport by the high winds from the southwest that were whipping up the Davis wildfire just a few miles SW of the airport. Although runway 17L was the designated arrival-departure runway, ASA's N530AS is captured here as the first of three "wrong way" departures from the other end of 17L ... runway 35R.

There are 3 runways at RNO; however, two of the three are closed. The only open runway is the second-longest one ... 17L-35R ... which is 9000 feet long. Repairs to the intersection of runways 17R-35L and 8-26 are being made, with the obvious result being that both of those runways are closed.

Great perspective with the mountains in back! Well done!
