US Marines heading home after spending many weeks in an isolated mountainous Marine Corps training area located in the Sierra Nevada learning to live in "field conditions." No matter what weather conditions occur up there, there are NO structures for them to take refuge in; they live and eat in tents, etc. One group I spoke with while photographing them as they prepared to board a charter for home had spent over a month in temps of -18 degrees F with wind chills of over -40 degrees F. And the snow had been over 15 feet deep. They lug all their equipment up there ... and back out at the end of the six weeks. And they go thru all that to be prepared to defend us. So the next time you see a Marine, tell him Thanks. It's the least you can do.
Nice catch Gary!
only 5 votes for this photo rarity...?????? C'mom viewers.......shape up!!!! Gman on bended knee to the US Marines, I work with many former, and always thank them...they are usually the quiet type and don't say anything. They are also very adaptive at work, and as tall as I am to them, I wouldn't mess with any of them, I'd get hurt. :) Oh..5 blabbering Aliens! *****
