FAIRCHILD HILLER FH-227 (N7801M)
This scan of a very, VERY old Kodak 620 film picture (the first of a two picture set) shows a Mohawk Airlines Fairchild Hiller FH-227 propjet (N7801M), named "Albany," as it is just beginning to taxi away from Gate 11 at Greater Buffalo International (now Buffalo Niagara International ... KBUF)
I did a bit of restorative editing on this photo. Both this picture and the second companion photo are severely yellowed with age (they were taken in the last few months of 1968 which makes them around 47-48 years old). I almost decided to take the easier route and to convert them to black and white, but if I had done that the gold-and-black MOH livery paint would not be viewable ... and Mohawk's livery was, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful of the era.
NOTE: The actual AIRCRAFT TYPE of this a/c is "FH-227." However, because a maximum of four letters / numbers are accepted in FA's AIRCRAFT TYPE data box, only the "FH22" is shown under this picture.
