Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress (12-4485)
B-17 Memphis Bell from the movie.
Comments
One of my all time favorites!
Nice shot! IMO, the greatest of the ol' WW2 warbirds. My father-in-law was a copilot on his first mission in Italy when his Fortress got shot down.
My wife says we can go to Savannah and visit the 8th Air Force museum.
The design is more than 80 years old and I think it's still one of the most beautiful aircraft ever. What's the "When & Where" of this photo?

In Geneseo.
A sign of real agility. Can you pull yourself up and through the forward hatch? Before you assume too much I can't and couldn't when I was younger but I have seen it done.
An iconic airplane. It looks like it is somewhere in East Anglia.
The real Memphis Belle is at the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio and has been beautifully restored.
I echo Thomas O'Brien - looks like 1944 . . .
Job well done.
I took this photo and the others when it landed in Kissimmee during its “final” flight in September of 2019. It has been said the flying group that was showing it can no longer afford the insurance due to the crashing of the B-17 Nine Oh Nine.
I cried when 909 went in and now this.
