A 5 * snap .... and a question. Not long ago, you posted a shot of VH-FXW which is another RFDS a/c. Now I see this one -- with the same livery. Is the RFDS a private aviation company or perhaps an airline specifically devoted to doctor transport? Or is the RFDS a group of medics who all own planes and are like a medical company that consists entirely of doctors (similar to a group of heart surgeons who join together under one corporate name)? I'm only asking because the two pics you posted show the same livery scheme. Also, (question number 2), is there another group of doctors similar to the RFDS who do the same thing but under a different name (ex: "AeroMed Services" or etc?).

Thanks Gary. The Royal Flying Doctor Service started in outback Queensland in the 1920s by Rev John Flynn who saw a need for patient/doctor transport to remote areas. These days it's an amazing organisation operating across Australia. There are a couple of other organisations providing similar operations but none are as large as the RFDS - Angel Flight and Careflight are two that I know of. Angel Flight is based in NSW and Careflight in the Northern Territory. My partner's cousin flies for Angel Flight at times using her Beech Baron.
