McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom 2 (97-8426)

I was wondering why this F4 was on the massive jacks, until I read the caption below the photo! She is actually in the same weight category as the 65Pax Fokker F28 that I used to fly. We carried 16,700pounds of fuel with full tanks(we had no belly tank fitted)...hence major fuel stress at times!

Hi Sasano, many thanks for the great shots! Our air force, the RAAF Royal Australian Airforce, flew the Phantom F4E for a couple of years in the mid 1970s. Then our Phantoms were soon replaced by the General Dynamics F111C model. It is amazing to me that the Phantom is equal in weight to an airliner that could carry 65 passengers at 420 knots, but only for a couple of hours...thankyou for much improving my knowledge of the airports in your country!

F-4 is now a little but is in combat deployment in japan.
However, F-4 will soon retire! !
In Japan, General Dynamics F111 has not been deployed.
B52 and SR71 (Blackbird), there was the era that had been deployed to Okinawa.
(SR71: 1968 to 1990)
RAAF aerial refueling aircraft had come to a friendship festival was held in Yokota Air Force Base on September 18 of this year.
