CONVAIR CV-340 Convairliner (CP-2026)
Convair C-131B (CV-340) November 2007
Comments
good looking Convair with the "orange peel" cowling open. I don't recall ever having seen an Astrodome on the USAF C-131B
Wow! That's a true antique. CV-340 in Bolivian registration. Not an ex-USAF bird.
Perhaps it's not crossed your mind but if you have enough $'s one may attach, install and use just about anything on any air frame just as long as it's approved!
Still flying these on the offshore islands of New Zealand
It was in use on the shuttle between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo some 50 years ago.
Pretty nice. Last Convair CV-340 built 64-years ago.
Tomer Ariav
Interesting that you would mention that. Used to fly in the Convair on that route between Sao Paulo and Rio as a teenager in the 1960's.

Gotta admire the paint job along the natural lines of the aircraft.
What a beauty.
What a beauty.
Love it! Thanks for the great photo.
what are the wires for above on top?
Lines above the fuselage are for radio and navigation equipment. GPS was not known at the time this bird was built.
