Crew car was available for me upon arrival and I was quickly on my way as my plane was refueled (crew car free for one hour for those who purchase fuel). After I got back there was a change of plans and Aimee was able to find me a hotel room at a special rate across the street. They shuttled me over. There were no ramp fees, but an overnight parking fee of $15 (plane was securely tied-down at all three points). Cessna Skylane RG |

The following response is from Lane Aviation addressing the review left by CL on 2/29/2020. Lane Aviation charges a facility use fee for airplanes that fly into its location that do not make a minimum fuel purchase. This fee covers things such as the line service representative that marshals and chocks the airplane, upkeep of the restrooms and lobby area, coffee and water, cookies at the front counter, free private parking, among other things. The fee for a Cessna 172 is actually 15.00. If you look at our facility use fees in comparison to other airports and FBO’s we are very conservative in what we charge our customers. In regard to asking for identification to get access to the ramp service area, we are highly scrutinized by TSA because of our close proximity to the main terminal. We are aware of the very sensitive security climate that we are in today and want to make sure that every person that we are giving access to is legitimate. In regard to treating customers differently according to what type of airplane they fly, we strive to treat every customer the same. If you would like to discuss this further, we would be happy to talk with you directly. | ||

Last fall, I took my student into CMH for Class C experience (arr and dep from start-up), so we parked at Lane. After a few min of debrief, we told the front desk we wanted to leave. She said "not until you pay $20". I explained what we were doing & no consideration was given. She was rude & didn't even smile & greet us. She told us they had no choice. Little to her knowledge, I have worked in aviation over 20 years & knew that was BS. Once paid, the guy manning the door who saw us come in asked for our IDs to go out. Well, had I known, I would have brought in my wallet. He proceeded to lecture us before granting us access to our Cessna 172. Last time I'll ever go here, even professionally in my other job. Guess I should have been in my Citation X or Gulfstream to get treated with respect, although I got the impression only $ talks here. It wasn't the $20 that upset me. I'd spend $50 or whatever. It was the poor customer service & disrespect we were shown. Spread the word. Cessna Skyhawk |
