New York's LaGuardia unveils new $3.9 billion Delta terminal
The Delta concourse, more than two years in the making, is the first phase of the airline's new $3.9 billion terminal at the airport. KLGA is undergoing an $8 billion overhaul. (www.cnn.com) المزيد...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Lot of money for a terrible location airport. Everything is bad about this airport.
A nice Terminal doesn't change the airline. Delta is still a terrible airline.
This looks more like a campaign commercial for Gov. Cuomo. The Delta terminals were in good shape before they started. What did they do that Delta hadn’t done already? Avoid this airport like the plague. Hours to get around in traffic, worse if you rent a car. Airport staff (non-airline) would be happier if you weren’t there. Port Authority runs buses from terminal A to other terminals. Rental car buses only take you you to terminal A. Port authority buses are run like, well, the Port Authority.
i've always had the opion, that airports should be under the purview of las vegas hotel/casino operators. that is, the only people who can own/operate commercial airports must operate a hotel/casino in las vegas.
if the people of chicago make the boys in vegas mad. no airport for your city. too bad, so sad.
the FAA has zero input. nada. buptkus. zilch. in either the design, operation, or location of any commercial airport.
the same goes for the cities.
the construction of the airport is subject to the clark county commissioners and building planners and construction codes.
if more than one hotel/casino decides to build more than one airport in your city. good for you. given the way vegas operates, you could end up with runways a mile wide and twenty five miles long. planes could land simultaneously using head-on approaches. and none of that residential obstruction crap to cause delays or additional expenses. eminent domain is absolute. we're building an airport where your neighborhood is, you have six hours to leave.
the facilities at the airport would be vegas style, and of course, with vegas prices. and if the airport is considered old and outdated, the demolition crews would be brought in for a late night fireworks display. and start all over again.
you might even hear a conversation between to female friends go something like this, "what are you and robert doing tonight?"
"we're going to the airport. robert got tickets to see celine dion, second row."
"oh, i wish i could go to the airport." when have you ever heard anyone say that?
turn control of the airports over to the boys in vegas, and LGA and articles like this would never happen again.
and don't even think about airport security. anybody tries anything, does the expression, "take 'em out on the heavy" mean anything to anybody.
and have a nice day.
