Hero pilot criticizes new FAA rules on fatigue

Hmmmm.... a government regulation that ends up making things worse?......bet that never happened before. Sorta like raising taxes on "the rich" and wondering why there's no growth in the economy. An absolute disconnect between those making the rules and real life. Maybe Sully should run the FAA.

The Republicans are only going to make things worse since they"ll probably pass this and included within the bill is a mandatory 1500 hours of flight time to even be able to apply to an airline. This will hurt college aviation majors, like my-self, who are looking at getting hired straight out of college with partnerships with airlines through our colleges. This bill should make exceptions for college aviation majors, part 141 schools, since we are receiving better flight training than someone who is taught through a part 61 flight school.

Do you really believe part 142 (not 141 since you're prbably talking about erau or und) is better training you have much to learn about aviation, and a lot to learn about part 61. Stop drinking your glorified overpriced college's koolaid
