EASA Insists On Testing Boeing 737 MAX Itself Before Lifting Ban

Guess if you are responsible for safety in your airspace you have the right to be 100% certain the aircraft is safe.

Correct decision IMO

They sound like snobby assholes, in my opinion.

I suspect this is as much about politics and protecting local interests as it is about safety. The third demand -- "A full understanding: EASA wants to be sure that both crashes are fully understood" -- is beyond the FAA's control. Who knows when the final reports will be issued for the two crashes? And I would expect some tit-for-tat down the line, when the FAA elects not to accept similar decisions from EASA and similar organizations, demanding their own tests.

They should do what they think is right. Personally I prefer to fly US or Asian Carriers where possible.

Meh, I know MH370 is excessively anti Boeing by all his posts. But let them run their tests...it’s really not a huge deal.
