Chris Liu: I am the YouTube airline pilot
The airline pilot who lost his federally-issued gun and badge for posting video on YouTube critical of airport security has chosen to go public with his identity. "My name is Chris Liu and I'm an airline pilot," Liu said during an exclusive interview Monday with News10 at his home in Colfax. (www.news10.net) المزيد...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
By what right does the Placer County sheriff's office have to suspend his CCW? Is this because his county is not de facto shall-issue? Sounds like a violation of the legal precedent set by Kuck v. Danaher.

According to news link, last July a man was arrested for blowing up a home that the pilot
owned in what police described as an on going dispute!! When Chris Liu was interviewed, he
was wearing an American Airlines uniform.

From what I've been able to find on state websites, courts actions are required to suspend/revoke CCWs. That said, sheriff's/deputies are officers of the court so I believe they can at least temporarily suspend them. In any case, it was likely included as part of the search warrant although I'm not sure exactly how. The requirements I've seen allow the revokation for any reason that would invalidate approval of the CCW -- whatever those requirements are re: the issuing state.
This man's video gave away NO operational classified info. The response of taking away his FFDO credentials, and his concealed carry permit, are pure childishness on the part of the government agencies involved. The whole issue of making flight crew members take off their shoes, belt, watches, etc., is just silly.
Didn't say it made sense. It IS California after all. :)
Are we in Russia or what ?
